Recipe: Chicken in Chinese herbs

This is another really easy-to-cook recipe. Basically you just throw everything in a slow cooker, add water and leave it to cook.

I love cooking with Chinese herbs. They are a cheap trick for impressing non-Chinese friends. And of course, they are very tasty.

Cooking with Chinese herbs

Packet of herbs

I love cooking with Chinese herbs. They have a very distinct flavour which most people here in UK are unfamiliar with. So they are good for impressing the 'westerners' with my 'exotic' Asian cooking.

To be honest, I didn't really cook much when I was in Singapore. I made up most of the recipes that I cook here. So they probably aren't authentic. But nevertheless, my British friends are impressed (or out of politeness they act so).

Recipe: Mum's carrot and pork rib soup

Picture of my remake of mum's carrot and pork rib soup

My mum used to cook this quite often when I was in Singapore. It's really easy to make. She would cook a huge pot of it, and the leftovers would taste especially good on the next day.
