Today went to see the midwives for our 5 days postnatal checks. Afterwards we went to Jaffe & Neale for coffee, cake, and quick sketch, and baby sleeping soundly all this time!
Today baby had been screaming at night and wouldn't breastfeed, we had to call the midwives in desperation. In the end it turned out she was just gassy. In the afternoon Peter took Owen to Witney to get baby a present.
Today grandpa departed to see Peter's sister's baby (born yesterday!). I finally got to play with Owen (who came home from nursery face-painted as The Incredible Hulk), and catch up with various communications and social media.
Today I was sleep deprived from feeding baby all night. Peter's sister gave birth to a baby girl today!
Today I spent most of the day recovering from childbirth at the hospital, and got discharged in the evening.
Today we went to the hospital for an induction and our new baby girl was born before midnight!
Today grandparents came down to stay in anticipation of our hospital appointment for induction tomorrow morning. Sadly it seems we're going to have to induce labour this time as well.
Today we went for a walk in the woods to encourage labour. Still no baby, sadly.
Today we went to the midwife to try to get some membrane sweep done to encourage labour, however was told we couldn't do it as baby's head was not low enough. So we went to Cafe Nero in Chipping Norton where Owen was hyper and happy to be out.
Today I finally got to eat my favourite coffee walnut cake at Jaffa & Neale bookshop cafe and even got to do some sketching in peace (Owen at nursery). It was enjoyable.
Today I finally got a replacement laptop from my workplace. It is quite slow and noisy, but is good enough for my maternity leave. Sadly still no baby though my colleague who's also expecting, had their baby yesterday! Quite jealous.
Today I had a midwife appointment, after which we visited my workplace to pick something up, and went to Banbury Hill Farm for tea where I did some sketching.
Today Owen threw a massive tantrum when Peter refused to play his favourite game of making every spoonful of dinner 'talk'. We had to explain to him how tiresome it was for us to do that constantly. Eventually we reached some sort of resolution and it seemed our relationship has grown stronger.
Today grandpa came to visit and took Owen off our hands. In the morning we took Owen to tumble tots for the first time.
Today we just stayed home all day.
Today still no baby. We went to Witney to get supplies and Owen was happy and hyper all day, making Peter and I quite exhausted.
Today I was disappointed that the baby didn't want to be born on this beautiful date that I had chosen for her birthday (17-02-2017, all prime numbers).
Today Owen was excited to go to tennis lessons but ended up feeling bad as he was the only new kid amongst the mostly older kids, and was lost and left out. "Want to go home and see mama," he said dejectedly. Poor boy!
Today Owen went to nursery and I got the afternoon free to sketch and paint the house across the street from the living room window.
Today I took Owen to the cinema to watch Ballerina, and he was terrified though it wasn't scary at all.
