Recipe:
Chicken in Chinese herbs

Ingredients:

1 x small chicken

A handful of dried goji berries

5-6 slices of dang gui

2 long twigs of dang shen
-
5-6 slices of yu zhu (optional)

Requires slow cooker

5 mins preparation time

5-6 hours cooking time
This is another really easy-to-cook recipe. Basically you just throw everything in a slow cooker, add water and leave it to cook.
I love cooking with Chinese herbs. They are a cheap trick for impressing non-Chinese friends. And of course, they are very tasty.
- Wash and drain the Chinese herbs.
- Put herbs and chicken into slow cooker.
- Add water to cover chicken. (Don't exceed max level for your cooker! I've flooded it once, it's not nice.)
- Cook for 5-6 hours.
- Add salt to taste.
- Serve in bowl with rice.
Serves 4 hungry grown ups.
