Today I did more IKEAing and finished Owen's new desk (it is much bigger than envisoned, but he is such a good academic boy who deserves a desk unmolested by annoying baby hands). Also started to contact people for the house's extension. Hopefully can get everything done before 2019! Quite excited about my upcoming new year resolutions (will involve decluttering and less shopping).
Today the man from the shop came to access our house for the new fireplace. Quite excited about it though it won't be done before winter is over. Why didn't we think of installing the fire before it got cold?
Today we both got very cross with Owen for not putting enough effort into potty training. In the evening I did some IKEAing.
Today Peter took the kids to the toddler group. In the evening after dinner we listened to chillout music, dimmed the lights and danced with the children.
Today I made lamb stew in the oven and then we went out to Witney shopping. It was nice to come home to the smell of dinner.
Today we had a lovely time at Banbury Hill Farm with my friends Alice and Simon. Owen seemed to like them very much too. Nice to have friends.
Today I received loads of parcels (partly due to John Lewis individually packing everything in my order), so much so I got laughed at by the delivery lady. Poor Harriet still struggling to poop so I took her to see the doctor.
Today poor Harriet had constipation and seemed in pain and didn't sleep very well. My cold had developed into an annoying cough, drowning me in phlegm.
Today I did more shopping (don't worry, most of them will be returned to the shops), and we started watching The Good Place, which we loved. Good to have found a new TV series to watch.
Today I didn't go out to meet up with friends because I had a horrible cold, and so did Harriet, and everyone at home. I did a lot of pre-black-friday shopping, which I probably shouldn't have done if I had just an ounce of impulse control.
Today I snipped my hair off because it was too troublesome. Owen was at home all day and very bored. Harriet was very happy mostly and ate a lot. We've reshuffled the dining area so she now sits next to Owen, which she loves. I racked my brains over Christmas presents.
Today we went out to lunch at the deli and then went to the new community centre library and park. We had a good day and everyone was happy and well behaved.
Today I was exhausted again from Harriet waking up a lot in the night (and not going back to sleep after feeding). We stayed in all day and listened to Alexa loop fireplace sounds. Owen's been a very good boy lately.
Today I took Harriet out to the village fireplace shop to have a chat about installing one. Then I had cake while waiting to pick Owen up from nursery.
Today Harriet was still pooping all night which was exhausting for us both. I woke at 2pm as a result!
Today Harriet had diarrhoea all night. Owen finally did a proper big poo in the toilet. We were both very excited and admired it before flushing it away. Tempted to take a photo but that might’ve been too weird.
Today Harriet woke in the night with a massive poop. In the morning we visited the village primary school in anticipation of Owen’s admission next year. Exciting! Poor Harriet had diarrhoea all day. My credit card got blocked for shopaholic activities. The man from the bank listed my transgressions and made me admit to each before releasing my card. I had a migraine.
Today Harriet slept through the night! Sadly I didn’t as I was bad and addicted to online shopping. In the morning Peter took the children to the village toddler group while I cleaned the house.
Today we finally managed to leave the house for a very short walk before it got dark and Owen had fun at the puddles though he tripped and fell into one. It was a clear beautiful day and felt very wintery. I spent a lot of time looking at dining tables and furniture. The nesting instinct is strong.
Today we went to Witney quite late for some quick shopping. Finally got Owen new wellies from Next. It was dark by the time we came back. We started eating mince pies and listening to Christmas music.
