Today Harriet woke in the night and wouldn’t go back to sleep even after feeding and cried for nearly 2 hours waking keeping all of us up. I spent the evening cleaning my fountain pens and doing house keeping on my art supplies.
Today Harriet was up at 5:30am again, exactly same time as yesterday! Her naps of the day went a bit crazy so I didn't get to take her out to soft play as I had planned. We went to the park instead with Owen and he had a great day playing with his best friend, Eddie.
Today Harriet woke up very early pre-dawn and wouldn't go back to sleep. Then later she cried and cried and wouldn't nap, and was just a pain all day. Owen went to Maddie's house to play. I was grumpy and had a headache. I spent all evening sketching. We needs telly?
Today we took the children to Kids Runaround at the community centre. It snowed, but the snow was rather disappointing. We were all ill with some kind of cold.
Today it started to snow again. Owen had a massive melt down in the morning because we weren't going to the cinema. So our trip to Witney was delayed by an hour trying to calm him down and dress him. Later we went to Witney to get grocery and Harriet napped for 3.5hrs after we came home.
Today Harriet was sent home from nursery for having fever. I came home to work from home in the afternoon, but Peter took her out anyway as she was bored and annoying at home. In the evening I put her to sleep extra early just to get rid of her. Afterwards I had fun doing some ink/paint blot painting.
Today Harriet had become a rather annoying whiney baby. We hoped it was only temporary. I felt ill with cold and grumpy and lazy, and didn't want to do the washing up.
Today I did some sketching at lunchtime in the office. After preschool, Owen's best friend, Eddie, came over to our house to play.
Today Harriet was up for 3hrs in the night and so I was exhausted in the morning. I spent all evening trying to upload videos of Harriet eating pasta to Facebook and it was somehow complicated.
Today I got home at 2:30am and had to pumped milk for an hour or so before I could sleep as I was so full from not breastfeeding or pumping all day. I woke late in the morning and in the afternoon Maddie came over to play with Owen.
Today there was more rain and hot chocolate at the alps. I hung out with the Bristol beardy gang at cafe and did more sketching. Later there was more waiting at airport and we finally got on a flight home. I had a great time getting to know people and even did some sketching. I started to remember who I was before motherhood overwhelmed me some 4 years ago.
Today I finally went skiing and it rained! It was very nice socializing with work mates in the evening, getting to know new people and catching up with old friends. Some I had known for more than 10 years!
Today we arrived at Sainte-Foy-Tarentaise finally. I thought to relax at the chalet but couldn’t check in until 4pm so I just wandered about and slept on the sofa (sleep deprived from traveling).
Today I put Harriet to bed, said goodbye to Owen and then took a bus to stay at a hotel near the airport for our early flight. Owen cried and held on to my leg, saying, “But where are you going to sleep, mummy? You should sleep at your home when it is dark outside.”
Today I got really packed up for the ski trip!
Today I got to know about the #oneweek100people sketching challenge one day after it had started and tried to catch up by taking Owen to the library and park. He played with his best friend, Eddie, so I got the chance for some quick sketches of people in the part.
Today I started packing for my ski trip and wondered if I should ski less and use the money for equipment hire to buy art materials instead. In the afternoon Owen and I drew monsters together. In the evening I tried out drawing with India ink.
Today the snow started to melt. We went to Jaffe & Neale to get Owen his World Book Day book, I love that shop. There was still no bread in the shops and now no milk too.
Today there was still some snow. I could finally go out and play in the snow. We went sledging in the park. There was no bread in the shop. Harriet was upset about her constipation and was unimpressed by sledging.
Today Harriet vomited blueberries all over her bed, her bed clothes, and her hair in the middle of the night TWICE. And so we ran out of bed linen and had to do emergency laundry and bath. In the morning there was loads of snow so I worked from home. Peter took Owen out sledging as nursery was cancelled.
