Today we took the children to watch a movie with Daisy, Lou and her nieces. When we came home, both children (and I) were overtired and annoying.
Today we took the children to watch a movie with Daisy, Lou and her nieces. When we came home, both children (and I) were overtired and annoying.
Today Owen went to his last day of Preschool this year and received chocolate, cards and presents. I slept till past noon due to staying up late.
Today Peter took the children to the Charlbury toddler group Christmas party. Owen helped himself to the food and ate loads of sausages, crisps, cake and chocolate. Harriet crawled around and tried to eat scraps from the floor. I stayed home and wrote long emails to our architect.
Today we took the children to the screening of Elf at the Charlbury memorial hall. Owen threw a few tantrums (eg. he was bothered by the beans spilling out of the bean bags) and Harriet was too restless to sit through the film though she was very amused initially and laughed a lot.
Today we went to Witney to do some shopping. Harriet was so pretty and cute, charming lots of strangers. Owen was very sad and disappointed because Peter refused to buy him a book he wanted. It was important for him to learn to deal with disappointment.
Today we went to our favorite indie bookstore in Chipping Norton and then took Owen to Santa’s grotto in Charlbury. It was very very cold and Santa knew his name.
Today Owen finally got 3 stars in a row for not having any potty accidents in 3 Days so I could reward him with a sticker book. He also met Santa at his nursery.
Today I was grumpy due to Harriet waking up all night. I finally finished knitting Harriet's jumpsuit.
Today preschool started late due to snow and I made fish pie for dinner.
Today the snow started to melt but was icy. Peter took Owen to the toddler group in the morning and then the community centre for 'Kids runaround' in the afternoon, and he had a really good time. How wonderful the community centre is. Harriet didn't sleep very much perhaps because of a cold and I didn't get to go out to see the snow.
Today we woke up to loads of snow. Owen finally got to make his first snowball. He didn’t seem too impressed and soon just wanted to sit at his desk. Harriet had a cold and wanted to stay home so I didn’t get to go out for a walk in the snow. I made a little snow gorilla in our garden.
Today grandparents came to visit and the children were very happy even though we didn’t go out. There was still a little snow on the sidewalk.
Today Harriet was terrible in the night again. She’s a tease. I shall not get my hopes high again. In the morning it snowed for a bit (first snow this winter). I tidied the footstool storage and found no. 3 from Owen’s clock puzzle which had been missing for years. In the evening we watched Easy on Netflix.
Today Harriet only woke once in the night. Owen woke up very grumpy in the morning and went back to sleep in our bed till late. I finished the 4th The Expanse book and really enjoyed that.
Today Harriet had been waking up every 2 hourly again. In the afternoon the builder came to chat about the chimney breast work. Afterwards we went to pick up Owen from preschool and visited the stove shop to look at the displays again, and then went to the library. We had Thai takeaway for dinner and Owen ate all his satays.
Today the architect came by to have a chat with us about the extension. How exciting!
Today Harriet was still terrible in the night. How can such a cute baby in the day be so horrible at night? In the morning, Peter took the children to the toddler group so I could have more sleep. Then in the afternoon Peter took Owen to Maddie’s house for play date while I stayed home with Harriet.
Today we all woke up late, after 10am, as both children had been waking up multiple times in the night. In the afternoon Peter took Owen to the cinema to watch Paddington Bear while I stayed home to make sure Harriet napped.
Today we went to the Christmas market at Cogges farm. Harriet was quite overtired from skipping her nap, and Owen had been trying our patience.
Today Owen finally got a star for not having any potty accidents. We brought out the Christmas box from the attic and started the advent calendar. Poor Harriet is constipated again. I spent the day drawing drafts for our extension.
