Today Owen was excited to go to tennis lessons but ended up feeling bad as he was the only new kid amongst the mostly older kids, and was lost and left out. "Want to go home and see mama," he said dejectedly. Poor boy!
Today Owen went to nursery and I got the afternoon free to sketch and paint the house across the street from the living room window.
Today I took Owen to the cinema to watch Ballerina, and he was terrified though it wasn't scary at all.
Today Peter took Owen to Little Wild Things (forest school), but Owen didn't seem to enjoy it as much as before.
Today we stayed home and I finally knitted a hat for Alice's baby.
Today I felt depressed thinking that once the short break is over (while Owen is in nursery and before new baby comes) we'll again have no life or freedom for the next ten(?) years. Won't be able to go to the cinema to watch grown up movies, go to nice restaurants, relax at cafe, go out without faffing about with kids, or even just go out in the evening. We've only managed to go to the cinema once in the past 3 years without Owen. It makes me want to scream and cry.
Today we spent hours at Cafe Nero while Owen was in nursery (and I'm on maternity leave and new baby not arrived yet). I was sketching and 'relaxing', but again it wasn't as good as I'd expected.
Today we went to the cafe at Banbury Hill Farm for coffee while Owen was in nursery, but it wasn't as amazing as I'd thought it would be.
Today I did even more cleaning and we rearranged the furniture again.
Today Owen started preschool and came home very happy and suddenly more grown up. I did a lot of vacuuming today and even cleaned the car, and so was happy too.
Today Peter took Owen to the toddler group. After that we just stayed home and I read Owen loads of books.
Today grandparents came to visit. Owen had a great time. I was ill from diarrhoea and stomach cramps.
Today we went to Witney and Owen ran into his best friend at Cafe Nero.
Today was my last day at work before starting my year long maternity leave. Owen finally got well enough to go back to nursery.
Today Owen was still feeling poorly, so I worked from home and took turns with Peter to look after him.
Today I found out that I had to surrender my laptop to my workplace while on maternity leave! Spending all evening backing up data and feeling rather insecure. Owen was still unwell, and Peter had to take a day off work to look after him. In the morning I had to leave for work before he woke. He cried when he woke up later and found I had gone to work.
Today Owen was still feeling miserable. He had to have biscuits for lunch and dinner and had to watch loads of TV. Apparently this nasty bug has been affecting loads of children and grownups at his nursery. Fingers crossed Peter and I won't catch it!
Today poor Owen was feeling very poorly and been vomiting all day and didn't even want to watch TV!
Today Owen went out for a walk with his best friend, and then went to play at his house. He had so much fun he fell asleep in the car park when we went to Witney later.
Today we stayed in waiting for something to be delivered but it was cancelled in the end. I spent some time playing with my new De Atramentis fountain pen inks and doing more sketching. A little obsessed about it at the moment.
